Palawan, renowned for its stunning natural beauty, has witnessed a significant upsurge in tourism. In the first half of 2023 alone, the province welcomed a record-breaking 765,000 tourists, surpassing the previous year's figures and marking a 135% growth compared to the same period in 2022.
Diverse Appeal Across Towns
The growth in tourism is not just confined to one area but is spread across various towns in Palawan:
El Nido: This picturesque town led the charge, attracting 294,065 tourists. Known for its limestone cliffs and clear waters, El Nido epitomizes the idyllic tropical paradise.
Puerto Princesa: Following El Nido, Puerto Princesa, the capital city, saw 269,090 visitors, drawn by attractions like the UNESCO-listed Subterranean River National Park.
Coron and Other Towns: Coron, San Vicente, Linapacan, Brooke’s Point, Narra, Busuanga, Culion, and Taytay also contributed significantly to the tourism numbers, each offering unique attractions to visitors.
